Terms of Use
Last updated: 2 November 2026
1. Licence
Fox Music is proprietary software by Ashborn. You may install and use it free of charge for personal, non-commercial listening on your own devices. You may not sell, rent, re-brand or redistribute it, or remove its notices, without written permission.
2. Your music and YouTube
- The app plays files you own and public YouTube content you choose to open. It does not host or distribute any music.
- You are responsible for having the right to play and download the content you use and for following the terms of the services involved, including YouTube's Terms of Service and the copyright laws that apply to you.
- Do not use the download feature for content you have no right to copy.
3. Lyrics and artist information
Lyrics are fetched from free databases such as LRCLIB. Artist facts come from MusicBrainz, and short biographies and photos from Wikipedia (text under CC BY-SA, shown with a link to the source page). All of it is provided as-is and may be missing or inaccurate.
4. Third-party software
Fox Music uses open-source software, each under its own licence, including Electron, React, Vite, Capacitor, NewPipe Extractor, Lucide icons, music-metadata and yt-dlp. Those licences continue to apply to those components and are not covered by the licence in section 1.
5. Plugins
Plugins are small programs made by other people. Ashborn does not make, check or endorse them. A plugin runs in a restricted box and shows the permissions it wants before you install it, but that is not a guarantee against harmful code. Install plugins only from people you trust, and you do so at your own risk.
6. No warranty
The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the extent allowed by law, Ashborn is not liable for any loss or damage arising from its use.
7. Artwork and branding
- The Fox Music name, logo and artwork belong to Ashborn.
- Artwork shown on this website or in videos is not a licence to reuse it.
8. Changes
These terms may change; continuing to use the app means you accept the updated terms. Questions? Join the Discord server.
