Fox MusicPrivacy Policy

In short: Fox Music has no accounts, no ads and no analytics. Your library, playlists, listening stats and settings stay on your device. The app goes online only when you use YouTube features, lyrics or artist pages, or when you yourself switch on an extra such as ListenBrainz, Discord status or a plugin. The website only counts download clicks, without cookies.
1. Who we are
Fox Music is a music player for Windows, macOS and Android published by Ashborn.
2. Data stored on your device
- Your library: file paths, titles, artists, albums, durations and cover art of the songs you add.
- Your playlists, liked songs, recently played list, volume, shuffle/repeat and theme settings.
- Your listening stats (time per day and hour, play counts), keyboard shortcuts, lyrics timing, equalizer and other settings, and which YouTube version you picked for a song.
- Plugins you installed and the small notes they keep, and, if you add them, your ListenBrainz token and Discord application ID.
- On desktop, the yt-dlp helper program if you install YouTube support.
This information never leaves your device through the app. On Android, songs you pick are copied into the app's private storage so they keep playing; they are never uploaded.
Android permissions
- Internet - lyrics, YouTube search and streaming.
- Notifications and foreground media service - controls on your lock screen and background playback.
- Songs are chosen with Android's file picker. The app never asks for microphone, camera, contacts or location.
3. What goes over the internet

4. What we do not collect
- No account, name or e-mail address.
- No analytics, telemetry or crash reports from the app.
- No advertising or tracking technologies.
5. This website
The website sets no cookies and loads no third-party fonts. When you click a download button, one anonymous request raises a counter at Abacus (abacus.jasoncameron.dev); the page also reads the public totals from it. Like any web server, the host of this site may keep ordinary technical logs such as IP address, time and requested file.
5a. Feedback form
If you send a bug report or suggestion from the feedback page, the title, message, platform, app version and the optional contact you type are sent to this website's server. They are emailed to the developer and kept in a private log, only to read and answer them. Your IP address is stored only as an irreversible hash, to stop spam. The contact field is optional and is never shared. Do not put passwords or private information in a report.
6. Your control
- Delete your data by removing the app's data folder (Windows:
%APPDATA%\Fox Music; macOS:~/Library/Application Support/Fox Music), or clear storage for the app on Android. Your music files are not touched. - Uninstall from Windows Settings, by dragging the app to the Bin on Mac, or by long-pressing the icon on Android.
7. Children
Fox Music is a general-purpose music player and is not directed at children. The app does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
